Femifiga x Beata Rojek dla Kongresu Kobiet w Brukseli

Femifiga x Beata Rojek for the Women's Congress in Brussels

This project is the fulfillment of my dream. Firstly, it is a collaboration with one of my favorite artists – Beata Rojek, and secondly, a production for the Women's Congress, an initiative that has been close to me for years. The 10th anniversary Congress was held under the slogan "About Love and Anger".

As Natalia Waloch writes in Wysokie Obcasy :

"Women are told that sex will be punished and that their entire physicality is one big shame. These narratives were challenged by panelists at a Polish event in the capital of Europe."

The idea of an anniversary gadget in the form of original Figs immediately struck me as a bullseye! There were supposed to be 50 pieces with graphics by Beata Rojek, but in the end, the choice fell on three designs - each in a different color. The graphics refer to juiciness, sexuality, moisture and sensuality.

The cherry on the cake is an original canary-colored box decorated with elements of graphics from Fig. The project was carried out quite smoothly, despite problems with firing the red at the right temperature and selecting the right technique for printing decals.

This is Figa's first big collaboration and a huge lesson for me. First of all, I've made sure that creating in collaboration with other artists is a great process that allows me to look at Figa from a completely new perspective.

Each Fig was accompanied by a revolutionary text by Agata Araszkiewicz – member of the Women's Congress, founder of the feminist association "Elles sans fronietres".

The limited edition briefs can be purchased via the Brussels Women's Congress website.
